It was with very much sadness that the fashion world received the news of Isabella Blow's death last week.

An icon to the british fashion scene and a muse to many designers, she was known by her eccentricity and punk sensibility.

Isabella started her career in 1980 as an assistant to Vogue's Anna Wintour. She was also fashion director to The Sunday Times and Tatler Magazine.

It was rare to see her without a Philip Treacy hat, an extravagant outfit and red matching lips.
In the words of Philip Treacy, Isabella "came from the establishment but was a punk at heart".

When Philip met Isabella, by Philip Treacy, features biographies of both the designer and Isabella as well as photographs of her in all her most show-stopping outfits

Her husband called her "a ray of sunshine" and Tatler editor Geordie Greig called her "intoxicating, a free spirit".

I loved seeing her on fashion file sporting one of Phillip Tracey's hats. She was simply to fly(and troubled) for most people to understand.
